So What Are These Apparently Wonderful Online Entities Typically Referred To As Blogs? A Blog Doesn't Actually Sound That Nice!

Blog - to my way of thinking is an anagrammatic acronym of Web Log. Blogs can range from simple diary-like entries to routine or semi regular postings of related or disparate subject matter.

Please bear in mind, my approach for this web article is for someone much like myself.

Somebody swamped by Blog this, Blog this way and don't do that do THIS etc etc. While really, what I have been trying to determine is really simple.

Just what exactly is a Blog? Is there a particular word count, format or location for these apparently wonderful online entities? Can everybody do one and should they bother? What do they cost and how do you make money from them?

Still, to tell you the fact, I am not at all sure. Thought I would show you that you are not alone!

While I am certainly learning, I always take time to ask if I am learning what I should be learning.

By the way, I really should apologise right now if you came here for any definite answers, I am only eligible to ask at this stage. However, sometimes understanding the questions to ask can give rise to conclusions and, dare I say it, answers. I do not suppose that it could always be said that I am precise in my communications. I do, nevertheless, like to be thought of as somebody able to encourage contemplative thought in those reading my tidbits.

A recurrent theme in the Blogging world must be mentioned. Wordpress. Wordpress blogs are easy to setup. Wordpress itself offers the means to operate a Wordpress Blog fully hosted, whereby you have customising access and not surprisingly, support. Always helpful in moments of crisis that is!

You can host them yourself, as all worthwhile hosting services allow you to install the script with ease. Within my practical experience the setup and maintenance was relatively easy, though cannot say with certainty that my approach was entirely most appropriate. I cheated here though. I found some really good tutorial videos that outlined the essentials very thoroughly indeed! Once again, I should apologise. I have forgotten from whence they came!
